# Custom Alerts

> Create AI-assisted Forex alerts for price, market structure, volatility, economic events, and trading-process conditions.

Custom Alerts help you define the market conditions that matter to your trading plan—then keep watch while you stay focused on preparation, execution, and review.

Use the AI Advisory Suite to turn a trading idea into a clear alert rule, such as:

* “Notify me when EUR/USD returns to my London-session demand zone.”
* “Alert me if GBP/USD sweeps the Asian-session high and closes back below it.”
* “Warn me before high-impact USD news.”
* “Remind me when I have reached my daily trade limit.”
* “Tell me when price approaches my planned entry, not after it has already moved.”

Alerts are designed to support disciplined decision-making. They provide context and reminders; they do not place trades, guarantee outcomes, or replace your analysis and risk controls.

<Note>
  The most useful alerts are specific, actionable, and tied to a pre-defined trading plan. An alert should tell you when to review a setup—not instruct you to enter a position automatically.
</Note>

## What you can monitor

Custom Alerts can combine market conditions, timing, and personal trading rules into a single monitoring request.

    Include the session, directional bias, invalidation level, news restrictions, or notes that explain why the alert matters.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select notification preferences">
    Choose your preferred delivery channels (In-App Activity Feed, Browser Push Notifications, or Verified Email Alerts) and review the alert summary before saving.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review when notified">
    When an alert fires, return to your chart and evaluate current conditions. Confirm structure, liquidity, risk, and news context before taking any action.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Build better alert rules with AI

The AI Advisory Suite can help translate discretionary trading language into a more structured monitoring plan. Start with what you already know: the pair, the level or zone, the session, and the evidence you need before considering a trade.

### Example prompts

<CodeGroup>
  ```text Plain-language request theme={"system"}
  Create an alert for EUR/USD when price returns to the 1.0850–1.0860 zone during London session. Include a reminder to check for a bullish market structure shift before considering an entry.
  ```

  ```text Liquidity-based request theme={"system"}
  Alert me when GBP/USD trades above the Asian high, then returns below it on the 15-minute chart. Add a warning if high-impact GBP or USD news is due soon.
  ```

  ```text Discipline request theme={"system"}
  Remind me to stop opening new trades after two completed trades today and prompt me to journal the session instead.
  ```
</CodeGroup>

<Note>
  AI-generated alert suggestions should always be reviewed before saving. Make sure the symbol, timeframe, price levels, session, and risk language accurately reflect your own plan.
</Note>

## Alert types

### Price alerts

Price alerts are best for planned levels, entry areas, invalidation points, and targets.

Typical conditions include:

* Price reaches or crosses a defined level
* Price enters a marked zone
* Price moves within a specified distance of a level
* Price breaks above or below a range boundary
* Price returns to a prior area of interest

A price alert is most effective when it includes a reason to care about the level. Instead of creating “EUR/USD at 1.0850,” use a meaningful description such as “EUR/USD returns to the 4H demand zone after London open.”

### Structure and liquidity alerts

Structure alerts help you monitor the conditions around a setup rather than reacting only to a price print.

You may use them to watch for:

* Asian, London, or New York session highs and lows
* Range expansion or return into a range
* Potential liquidity sweeps
* Market structure shifts
* Break-and-retest behavior
* Price interaction with a pre-marked premium or discount area

<Warning>
  Market structure and liquidity concepts require trader interpretation. An alert can identify that a monitored condition may have occurred, but it cannot confirm a valid setup, suitable entry, or acceptable risk on your behalf.
</Warning>

### Economic-event alerts

Economic alerts help you stay aware of scheduled releases that may affect volatility, spreads, or market behavior.

Use them to:

* Receive advance notice of high-impact releases for a currency
* Avoid opening new positions within your news restriction window
* Reassess an existing setup before a scheduled event
* Distinguish normal price action from event-driven movement

If news avoidance is part of your strategy, make it explicit in the alert notes—for example: “Do not consider new EUR/USD entries within 30 minutes of high-impact EUR or USD news.”

### Process and risk reminders

The strongest alert system is not only market-facing. It also protects your decision process.

Examples include:

* Start-of-session preparation reminders
* Daily maximum-trade reminders
* Post-loss cooldown prompts
* End-of-session journal reminders
* Weekly trade-review reminders
* Prompts to stop trading after your defined risk limit is reached

These reminders support consistency by moving key decisions out of emotionally charged moments.

## Alert anatomy

A complete alert should answer five questions:

| Field | Question to answer | Example |
| - | - | - |
| Instrument | What market are you monitoring? | EUR/USD |
| Condition | What needs to happen? | Price enters a marked demand zone |
| Context | When or under what conditions does it matter? | During London or New York session |
| Validation | What must you inspect next? | Confirm lower-timeframe bullish shift |
| Invalidation | What makes the idea less relevant? | High-impact USD news or a clean close below the zone |

This structure prevents alerts from becoming vague notifications with no decision framework behind them.

## Managing active alerts

Open **Custom Alerts** to review active, triggered, paused, and completed alerts.

For each alert, keep the following current:

* **Status:** Active, paused, or archived
* **Market context:** Current bias, relevant session, and event restrictions
* **Price areas:** Update zones when your analysis changes
* **Expiry:** Remove alerts for invalidated or outdated ideas
* **Notes:** Record why the alert was created and what happened after it fired

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="When should I pause an alert?">
    Pause an alert when you are unavailable to review the market, when a major scheduled event changes the context, or when the original setup is no longer part of your current plan. A paused alert preserves the configuration without continuing to notify you.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="When should I delete an alert?">
    Delete or archive an alert when its thesis has been invalidated, the relevant session has passed, the level is no longer meaningful, or you no longer intend to trade that setup.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Why did I receive an alert but decide not to trade?">
    This is often the correct outcome. Alerts identify a condition worth reviewing; they are not trade signals. Price may reach a level without showing the confirmation, liquidity behavior, risk-to-reward profile, or news environment required by your plan.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can an alert execute a trade for me?">
    No. Custom Alerts are advisory and informational. You remain responsible for every trading decision, order, position, and risk-management action.
  </Accordion>
</AccordionGroup>

## Notification hygiene

Too many alerts can create noise, urgency, and reactive decision-making. Keep your alert list intentional.

### Recommended practices

* Create alerts only for levels and scenarios you have already reviewed.
* Use one alert per meaningful idea rather than multiple near-identical price alerts.
* Add an expiry or manually retire session-specific alerts.
* Pair entry-area alerts with invalidation or news-awareness reminders.
* Review triggered alerts in your journal to determine whether they improved your process.
* Keep delivery channels enabled only when you can act responsibly on the information.

<Note>
  If an alert arrives when you cannot perform a full review, treat it as information—not a reason to make a rushed decision from a notification.
</Note>

## Important risk notice

Custom Alerts and AI-generated advisory content are educational and informational tools. They do not constitute investment advice, a recommendation to buy or sell any instrument, or a guarantee of performance. Forex trading involves substantial risk, including the potential loss of capital.

Always use your own judgment, follow your risk-management rules, and verify market conditions independently before making a trading decision.
