# Layout Customization

> Configure the Forex Masters Trading Workspace so charts, market intelligence, AI assistance, and trading tools support your analysis workflow.

# Layout Customization

Your Trading Workspace is designed to adapt to the way you prepare, analyze, and review trades. Arrange the tools you use most, reduce visual noise, and save a layout that supports consistent decision-making.

A well-designed workspace does not create an edge by itself. It helps you apply your process with fewer distractions, faster context switching, and clearer risk controls.

<Note>
  Layout preferences affect how information is displayed in your workspace. They do not change market data, trading rules, account settings, broker connections, or risk limits.
</Note>

## What you can customize

The workspace is composed of modules—such as charts, market intelligence, notes, tasks, and AI-assisted analysis—that can be arranged into a practical trading environment.

Depending on your enabled product access and workspace configuration, you can customize:

* **Module placement** — position tools where they are easiest to reference.
* **Module size** — give more space to charts, planning tools, or research panels.
* **Workspace density** — keep a focused setup for execution planning or a broader setup for research.
* **Global market context** — align compatible modules to the active symbol and timeframe.
* **Templates** — begin from a purpose-built arrangement, then refine it for your process.
* **Saved layouts** — retain a preferred setup for recurring workflows.

## Start with a workspace template

Templates provide a structured starting point for common workflows. Choose one that matches your current objective, then make incremental adjustments rather than building a complex layout from scratch.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Trading Workspace">
    Navigate to your authenticated dashboard and open the workspace you want to configure.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open layout or workspace controls">
    Use the workspace controls to browse available layout templates and display options.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose a starting template">
    Select a template that best fits your immediate workflow, such as market analysis, focused charting, planning, or review.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Adjust the arrangement">
    Move, resize, add, or remove modules until the layout supports your process.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm the working context">
    Check the active symbol and timeframe before using the layout for analysis.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Warning>
  Switching templates may reorganize the visible workspace. Before changing a layout that you rely on, confirm that important notes, journal entries, and trade records have been saved. Layout changes should not be treated as a substitute for preserving trading records.
</Warning>

## Move and resize modules

Arrange modules according to the order in which you make decisions. The most important information should be visible without excessive scrolling, resizing, or panel switching.

### Recommended placement principles

| Priority | Place near your primary focus | Examples |
| - | - | - |
| Primary | Center or largest workspace area | Price chart, multi-timeframe charting, active analysis |
| Supporting | Adjacent to the primary view | Market context, reference levels, economic calendar, news |
| Decision support | Easily accessible but visually secondary | AI assistant, checklist, risk calculator, trade plan |
| Documentation | Available without obscuring analysis | Notes, journal, tasks, review prompts |

To reposition a module:

1. Locate the module header or drag handle.
2. Drag the module to the desired area of the workspace.
3. Release it when the placement indicator shows the intended position.
4. Resize the module from its available resize control or boundary.
5. Verify that critical content remains readable at your current screen size.

<Note>
  Give charts enough space to display price structure clearly. A chart that is too compressed can hide swing structure, session behavior, liquidity events, or the relationship between entry, invalidation, and target levels.
</Note>

## Use global symbol and timeframe context

The workspace can maintain a shared market context, including the active instrument and timeframe. Compatible modules can use this context to remain aligned as you move through your analysis.

For example, if your active context is `EUR/USD` on the `1H` timeframe, related chart, reference-level, and market-data modules may update to reflect that selection.

### Before relying on synced context

* Confirm the displayed instrument matches the instrument in your trade plan.
* Confirm the timeframe supports the decision you are making.
* Review whether a module is designed to follow the global workspace context or has its own independent setting.
* Re-check the context after applying a template or switching between saved workspaces.

  <Accordion title="Why does one panel show a different symbol or timeframe?">
    Some tools can maintain their own local context so you can compare markets or timeframes side by side. Review the controls within that module and set it to follow the workspace context when you want synchronized analysis.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Should every panel use the same timeframe?">
    Not necessarily. A disciplined multi-timeframe workflow often uses a higher timeframe for directional context and a lower timeframe for execution planning. Keep the purpose of each panel explicit to avoid mixing incompatible signals.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Does changing the workspace symbol place or modify a trade?">
    No. Workspace symbol and timeframe controls affect analysis context only. They do not place orders, modify broker positions, or create trade records.
  </Accordion>
</AccordionGroup>

## Build layouts for distinct trading moments

Avoid one oversized layout that attempts to handle every activity. A focused workspace reduces the temptation to react to every data point at once.

  </Card>
</CardGroup>

## Example: focused execution-planning layout

Use this arrangement when you are preparing a trade idea—not when you need broad research coverage.

```text theme={"system"}
┌───────────────────────────────┬───────────────────────┐
│                               │ Economic calendar     │
│                               ├───────────────────────┤
│         Primary chart         │ Reference levels      │
│                               ├───────────────────────┤
│                               │ Trade plan / risk     │
├───────────────────────────────┼───────────────────────┤
│ Higher-timeframe context      │ Notes or checklist    │
└───────────────────────────────┴───────────────────────┘
```

This structure keeps the chart central while placing event risk, levels, and planning inputs close enough to validate the trade idea before any execution decision.

<Warning>
  A clean layout cannot validate a setup or control risk for you. Do not use workspace organization, AI output, or market widgets as a reason to override your trading plan, stop-loss rules, or exposure limits.
</Warning>

## Save changes and keep layouts reliable

Workspace layouts are associated with your user workspace and may be restored when you return to the platform. The platform persists workspace structure, including layout and viewport state, so your environment can remain consistent across sessions.

For best results:

1. Make one or two deliberate changes at a time.
2. Allow the workspace to finish updating before navigating away.
3. Refresh or revisit the workspace to confirm the arrangement is retained.
4. Keep a simple fallback layout for use on smaller screens or during fast-moving market conditions.
5. Review your layout periodically—not after every trade.

<Note>
  Workspace data is user-scoped. If you use a shared, public, or unmanaged device, sign out when finished and follow your organization’s device-security practices.
</Note>

## Layout design guidelines

### Keep decision-critical information visible

Your layout should make it easy to answer the questions that matter before a trade:

* What is the current market structure?
* Is there relevant scheduled economic risk?
* What is the planned entry, invalidation, and target?
* Does the position size match your predefined risk?
* Is this setup within your trading plan and session rules?

If the answer requires opening multiple unrelated panels, simplify the layout.

### Separate research from execution

Research tools can be useful before a session, but a crowded research environment can become counterproductive when a setup is forming. Consider separate layouts or module arrangements for:

* Broad market scanning
* One-instrument analysis
* Event-risk monitoring
* Trade planning
* Journaling and review

### Optimize for process, not stimulation

Avoid placing continuously updating news, social, or broad market feeds in the most prominent position unless they are essential to your defined workflow. A workspace should help you filter information, not create pressure to act.

## Troubleshooting

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="My layout did not appear after I returned to the workspace">
    Reopen the relevant workspace and allow the page to finish loading. Check that you are signed in to the same Forex Masters account and using the intended workspace. If the issue persists, try refreshing the page and report the workspace name, browser, device type, and approximate time of the change to support.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="A module is missing after I changed templates">
    Open workspace controls and add the module again if it is available for your account. Some modules depend on your enabled product access, workspace variant, or current platform configuration.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The workspace is difficult to use on a smaller screen">
    Reduce the number of simultaneously visible modules, prioritize one primary chart, and move supporting tools into a simpler arrangement. Use a dedicated review or research layout for more information-dense work.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Market information looks out of sync">
    Verify the active workspace symbol and timeframe, then inspect the individual module’s settings. Some modules use independent configuration or update on different data-refresh schedules.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I use workspace settings as trade execution instructions?">
    No. The Trading Workspace is an analysis and education environment. Any decision to trade, including order placement and risk management, remains your responsibility and must be made through your authorized execution venue.
